Robotic/Laparoscopic surgery

What is Laparoscopy?

Laparoscopy is a term used to describe surgeries performed through "Keyhole" Incision. This is done in comparison to the traditional large incisions by open surgery.

Laparoscopic surgery is usually better for pain management, early mobilization and discharge.  This would allow patients to go back to their usual daily life faster.

Robotic surgery is minimally invasive surgery that is done similar to the laparoscopic surgery but using a robotic platform. This gives the surgeon better precision and technical capabilities that allow for better surgical techniques.
